I feel like embracing a car-free lifestyle has helped me develop a kind of spatial sense in my later years. Thinking about what's walkable in cities I'm visiting for the first time, clicking around maps of neighborhoods, noticing what kinds of businesses open in those neighborhoods: I do all these things on a purely hobby/amateur level and I enjoy thinking about it.
I think you've always had a spatial sense for as long as I've known you. You just didn't know what to call it or maybe you just weren't aware you had it? Someone who can pack boxes, put suitcases in the trunk of a car so that it all fits, organize a space with objects inside of it, so they all fit and form together - that's spatial thinking and spatial intelligence. Believe me, you are DEFINITELY a spatial thinker!
